Aim of the Society

The objective of the Mediterranean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (MESAPS) is to promote aesthetic and plastic surgery in theory and practice, and increase the links between mediterranean plastic surgeons.

History

MESAPS was founded in 1987 by a group of plastic surgeons who foresaw the need for a mediterranean board of plastic surgeons to allow for scientific exchange in such a large area: Drs Banic, Baudet, Bergaman, Costagliola, Lassus, Mazzola, Montoya, Olivari, Pailheret, Salimbeni, Santoni-Rugiu, Scheflan, Wexler.

The first meeting was held in November 1987, with its first President, Dr. Thomas D. Cronin. After him, several outstanding plastic surgeons were presidents, such as Baroudi, Nahai, Lejour, etc.

Honorary Members of the MESAPS are: Drs Cronin, Lejour, Bostwick, Nahai, Baroudi, La Plaza.
